Dutch Sour Cream Cabbage

1 medium head cabbage, shredded
2 cups white sugar
1 cup oil for frying
2 Tbs. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 pint sour cream
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
2 cups distilled white vinegar

In a medium skillet, heat oil for frying. Add the cabbage and seasoning to the skillet and cook until tender, approximately 15 to 20 minutes. In a bowl, mix together the sugar and flour, then add the sour cream, mixing well. Stir in the vinegar very well, and then add the entire mixture to the cabbage. Simmer the cabbage until it reaches the desired consistency.
